Lipids, Proteins and Nucleic Acids

Homework check: dehydration synthesis and hydrolysis illustrations

You will explain your illustration to a partner.

Today we are finishing up the biochemistry note packet you received yesterday. I have some demonstrations to help you understand the monomers and polymers of each type of organic compound. We will also be collecting more data for our "Occurrence of Water in Living Things" lab. (The handout was yesterday)

Then you will be completing the organic compound chart. This chart will help you compare the 4 types of compounds we are studying.

Warm-Up:
How is it possible for carbon to form such a variety of complex molecules?

It's Friday so you are turning in your warm-up sheet today. Remember, all 5 days must be included to receive full credit!

NEXT TEST: THURSDAY, SEPT 23
INTRO TEST RETAKE, SEPT 20
